As financial planners, we spend an enormous amount of time helping our clients have realistic expectations. Our job is to help you get to your destination. Each person’s journey to get there will most certainly look different. The biggest mistake investors make is confusing the journey with the destination. You see, there will always be a reason not to invest. There will always be risk. That’s was the case 30 years ago, it will be the case 30 years from now. Your journey may not be as you had imagined and it may not be a comfortable journey, but keep your focus on the destination. I can’t tell you how many destinations have been missed because someone got a little too nervous on the journey.
